Residential visits
Hill End All children have the chance to go on a residential visit. We have a regular two-night stay at Hill End, a field centre in Oxfordshire, with the whole school attending (Reception class on a daily basis only). We find that the children’s self-confidence and independence grows and they enjoy a wide range of activities. These have included orienteering, nature trails, experimenting with their senses, pond-dipping and studying the insects they found, and making figures from clay dug up beside the pond.
Yenworthy Years 5 and 6 have residential visits to Yenworthy in North Devon every two years. Here they take part in activities such as orienteering, rock climbing, canoeing, abseiling and surfing. They have to assume responsibility for themselves as well as working as a team.
