May 2009 - Walk to School Week

20th May - We thought we'd see how many children would use the walking bus. So we gathered at the Seven Stars car park for 8.30, the teachers as well, and all walked across the green to school. Nearly everybody was on it.
March 2009 - preparing for Artweeks
This year the school is participating in Artweeks from Monday 18th May to Friday 22nd May. We have spent a couple of Saturday afternoons preparing some great works of art, having lots of fun and getting very messy at the same time!
January 2009 - the Great Outdoors - photography and art competition
Details have already been sent round to children at the school about how to enter these competitions. This is something all the family can take part in so get outside and start snapping some of the beautiful winter scenes we are witnessing at the moment! The competition is open to pupils at the school and their families - the closing date is 6th February and the winners will be announced on 13th February.
October 2008 - new hall opening
On Friday 24th October we held an opening ceremony for our new hall. The event was attended by the Bishop of Dorchester, representatives from the Local Education Authority, parents, villagers and three previous headteachers going back to 1944! We were treated to a display of dancing, singing and gymnastics as a demonstration of some of the activities the children can now do which were difficult before the hall was built. Refreshments organised by the PFA were much appreciated.
September 2008 - new term, new hall, new headteacher!
Our new term started on Wednesday 3rd September with our new headteacher Mr Nick Pitson there to greet everyone and the new school hall open for use. The children ate their lunches together in the hall (rather than at their desks) for the first time and were able to have school assembly without moving tables in the classrooms. Cooked school lunches are now available - see here for more details.
