About Us

We are a small school 15 minutes from the centre of Oxford, but in the heart of the countryside.  The school is set next to one of the country's largest and most picturesque greens.  It was founded in 1771.

We are able to take up to 70 pupils. The average class size is just over twenty.   We find that our size brings many advantages.

Teachers get to know each child individually and can therefore plan for individual strengths and needs.   Pupils are taught in mixed age and ability classes.

Our aim is to help children to settle happily and confidently at school, to develop at their own pace and fulfil their potential in all kinds of ways.

We see education as a partnership between children, teachers and parents and we try hard to build these vital relationships.

For prospective parents choosing the right school for your child is clearly important and therefore we encourage you to come and visit us to get a feel for the school, talk to children and teachers and see what goes on in classes.

We pride ourself on being a 'community' school in all senses of the word. We are a happy family school which stands as an integral part of the village and surrounding area.

We aim to provide a full and balanced education for all our pupils.
