Who are we
The PFA is made up of parents, friends and teachers plus any members of the wider community interested in supporting their local school.
With over 60 pupils (about 40 families) from the Baldons and surrounding area, there should never be a shortage of supporters but we are currently experiencing a shortage of attendees at meetings and would always welcome extra volunteers for events…
What we do
Our main aim is to support the school through fund raising. Events throughout the school year help enhance the school environment and facilities and also offer additional opportunities and experiences for all the children.
Many parents and friends also offer their expertise, time and help, for example, volunteering to assist with the after school cookery club, sports club, choir and chess club to name but a few.
The highlight of last term’s events was a very successful and enjoyable Christmas Fair, making over £1000 profit. Last autumn we made £5,000 available for the immediate purchase of staging, wall bars and other gym equipment in the hall. £250 brought a new wooden storage shed for the front garden. The PFA also funded coaches for the Hill End Trip and annual Christmas Pantomime trip.
In addition to organizing and funding an Easter Egg Hunt, there were two successful Saturday afternoon Art Workshops during March where we produced ‘masterpieces’ to support our participation in the Oxford Artweeks scheme…a fantastic opportunity to showcase our multipurpose School Hall as a Gallery.
If you are interested in taking on either of these roles or would just like to find out a little more about the PFA please speak to Claire mummy of Fin, Millie and Maisie (Yr5/3/R) or Wendy mummy of Jake and Karis (Yr4 /1)
